Your executives and managers are delivering results. Many of them are running on empty.
Your VPs, Directors, and Managers sit through a lot of speakers. Most of the talks are forgotten by the time everyone is back at their desks. Your people don’t need more hype on an already overloaded plate. They need a clear, practical way to understand what fires them up, what fizzles them out, and why the people around them do what they do.
That’s what my keynotes are built to do. Fire Up! or fizzle out. The choice is yours.
Why Andy
I’m Andy Dix, MS, a Board Certified Executive Coach (BCC), Reiss Motivation Profile® Master, author, and host of the Hopeful Hoosier Podcast®. Before founding AD Growth Advisers in 2016, I spent most of my career at a Fortune 500 company, where I became Divisional Director of Sales Effectiveness and Training for the Midwest Advertising Sales Division. I know what it’s like to deliver results through people under pressure.
- Personally trained and certified by Professor Steven Reiss, Ph.D., creator of the Reiss Motivation Profile®
- Helped more than 1,700 professionals clarify their needs and values using the RMP
- Facilitated management development programs for Johnson & Johnson and coached executives from Eli Lilly, Amgen, Microsoft, and Coca-Cola
- Author of Life Matches: Fire Up Your Life!
I don’t stand on stage and lecture. I talk with your people about their real situation: the 3 A.M. worry, the meeting that went sideways, the quiet question, “Why am I doing this?” Then I give them something they can use on Monday morning.
The Talks
1. Fire Up or Fizzle Out: Your Life Matches Are Your Greatest Strengths
Based on my book, Life Matches: Fire Up Your Life!
In Life Matches, Tim Davis is a fizzled-out director of sales. A possible heart attack forces him to confront his life’s priorities, and a simple book of matches sparks him to fire up his life by using his strengths and talents more effectively. Plenty of managers in your audience will recognize Tim. This talk shows them that their energy comes back when they spend more of their day on what they do best, and manage around the rest.
Your audience will:
- Recognize the early signs of fizzling out in themselves and their teams, before the “possible heart attack” moment
- Identify the strengths and talents that give them energy, not just the skills they’ve been rewarded for
- Learn to build their week around those strengths and manage around their weaknesses
- Leave with one practical next step to “Learn it, Live it, Share the spark” with their own teams
2. Why Do You Do That? The Science of Motivation® At Work
Why do people do what they do? The Science of Motivation® has the answers. No one can motivate someone else; all motivation is intrinsic. Each of us is driven by 16 basic desires that we prioritize differently, and those priorities become our values, our habits, and our blind spots. This talk uses the research of Professor Steven Reiss behind the Reiss Motivation Profile® to help executives and managers stop trying to turn people into copies of themselves and start creating a work environment where people can perform and thrive.
Your audience will:
- Understand why no one can motivate someone else, and what managers can do instead
- Discover what most bosses naturally do wrong that actually demotivates and frustrates employees
- See how conflicting values cause many interpersonal conflicts at work, and how to reduce them
- Start building motivational intelligence about themselves, their teams, and their customers
Formats
Each talk can be delivered as:
- Keynote for your conference, kickoff, or management meeting
- Breakout session with more discussion and application
- Workshop for a management team that wants to go deeper and practice
Talks typically run 45 minutes plus 15 minutes of Q&A, and I can adjust the length to fit your agenda. I speak in person or live and virtual via Zoom. For in-person events, the client covers business-class travel expenses.
